The foundation is accountable to anyone who inspects it — not to its own press releases. Everything below is a link, not a claim.
Open source
The platform's source is published under permissive licences in public repositories. The foundation's own fleet runs on the same published code it hands to strangers — there is no "open for customers, closed for competitors" split.
Open weights
Models released by the foundation carry published weights. That is the difference between owning intelligence and renting it: with the weights, anyone can audit the model, fine-tune it, serve it, and keep it — forever, on their own hardware.

Secrecy is the tax the public pays last
A non-profit that keeps its operations private is a trust without an audit. Every decision the foundation makes — what to open, what to release, how money moves — is a decision the record should show. Where the record does not exist yet, this page says so, rather than pretending.
